Underwriters Laboratories Inc. authorizes the DESCRIPTION PRODUCT COVERED: USL, CNL - Cable and Conduit Hooks, Cat. Nos. JH-21, JH-32 and JH-64 may follow by suffix W or AC, RR-JH-32; Cable and Conduit Support System Cat. Nos. FR followed by -ZC or -PZC. GENERAL: These cable and conduit supports are for mounting of cable and conduit to structure surfaces and threaded rods. Cat. Nos. JH-21, JH-32 and JH-64 may follow by suffix W or AC, RR-JH-32 are intended for CAT5 cable bundles and 12-3 Flexible Metal Cable. These products are intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements in the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE USE): USL indicates the product has been reviewed and found in accordance with the requirements in Standard for Safety for Hardware for the Support of Conduit, Tubing and Cable, UL 2239 First Edition. CNL indicates the product has been reviewed and found in accordance with the requirements in Standard for Safety for Hardware for the Support of Conduit, Tubing and Cable, CSA C22.2 No. 18.4-04, First Edition. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS: General - For details on the construction of the products covered by this Report, refer to the following paragraphs and its accompanying description. Materials - Each product is stamped from type II zinc-plated steel with a chromate dye, hot-dipped galvanized steel, or black epoxy powder coated steel known as unify electrophoresis coating with a membrane thickness of 10-35µm. MARKING: Refer to Section General. The smallest unit shipping carton or stuffer sheet is to be marked with the products intended mounting orientation, type and size of conduit intended to be supported and load rating. Maximum size conduit or cable on each product, as outlined in Table
I. The smallest unit shipping carton for the following products are
marked to indicate the maximum load rating; the maximum load ratings
may be in the form of a stuffer sheet.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: For Installation Instructions, see ILL. 1 shall be provided with each part or each smallest shipping carton. The instructions shall include the maximum load ratings. MODEL NOMENCLATURE: Example:

2. Cat. No. JH-21W - Same as Cat. No. JH-21 above, except provided with bat-wing clip riveted to top of J hook with 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) diameter rivet. Refer to FIG. 5 and ILL. 1 for Bat-wing description. 3. Cat. No. JH-21AC - Same as Cat. No. JH-21 above, except provided
with angle bracket riveted to top of J hook with 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) diameter
rivet. Angle Bracket is galvanized steel, 0.077 in. (1.9 mm) thick,
0.75 in. (19 mm) wide, short leg approx. 0.98 in. (25 mm) and long leg
approx. 1.2 in. (31 mm) long. Provided with two holes, 0.25 in. (6.3
mm) diameter, centered and approx. 0.38 in. (9.7 mm) from each end.
CAT. NO. JH-32 SERIES CABLE SUPPORTS - FIG. 2 1. Cat. No. JH-32 - Constructed of zinc plated steel, overall dimensions 4.73 by 1.35 by 0.047 in. (120 by 34.5 by 1.2 mm). Loop for cables is approx. 1.80 in. (45 mm) diameter. Up-turned stiffener edges 0.29 in. (7.5 mm) high and 0.31 in. (8 mm) wide along entire length of each side. Stamped ridge stiffener in bottom center of hook, 0.19 in. (5.0 mm) wide, 0.05 in. (1.37 mm) deep and 3.5 in. (89 mm)long. Provided with mounting opening at long end of hook 0.26 in. (6.7 mm) diameter. Also provided with opening at short end of hook 0.26 in. (6.7 mm) diameter for the cable ties. 2. Cat. No. JH-32W - Same as Cat. No. JH-32 above, except provided with bat-wing clip riveted to top of J hook. Refer to FIG. 5 and ILL. 1 for Bat-wing description. 3. Cat. No. JH-32AC - Same as Cat. No. JH-32 above, except provided with angle bracket riveted to top of J hook. Angle Bracket is galvanized steel, 0.077 in. (1.9 mm) thick, 0.75 in. (19 mm) wide, short leg approx. 0.98 in. (25 mm) and long leg approx. 1.2 in. (31 mm) long. Provided with two holes, 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) diameter, centered and approx. 0.38 in. (9.7 mm) from each end. 4. Cat. No. RR-JH-32 - Same as Cat. with extension rod and angle bracket riveted to top of J hook. Angle
Bracket is galvanized steel, 0.082 in. (2.1 mm) thick, 0.75 in. (19
mm) wide, short leg approx. 0.79 in. (20 mm) and long leg approx. 1.3
in. (33 mm) long. Provided with rivet hole, 0.25 in. (6.3 mm) diameter,
centered and approx. 0.35 in. (8.9 mm) from short end. Raised impression
for powder-driven nail, approx. 0.52 in. (13 mm) dia. and 0.26 in. (6.7
mm) high with 0.14 in. (3.7 mm) dia. centered hole for nail. Nail is
provided, 1.36 in. (34.7 mm) long by 0.14 in. (3.7 mm) dia. shank with
0.28 in. (7.1 mm) dia. by 0.11 in. (2.9 mm) thick head. Extension rod
is galvanized steel, 0.23 in. (6 mm) dia. and approx. 11 in. (280 mm)
long. Ends are flattened to approx. 0.08 in. (2 mm) thick 0.47 in. (12
mm) wide and 0.69 in. (17.6 mm) long. Provided with rivet holes 0.25
in. (6.3 mm) diameter, centered and approx. 0.38 in. (9.7 mm) from each
end. CAT. NO. JH-64 SERIES CABLE SUPPORTS - FIG. 3 1. Cat. No. JH-64 - Constructed of zinc plated steel, overall dimensions 7.25 by 1.90 by 0.047 in. (184 by 48.3 by 1.2 mm). Loop for cables is approx. 4.0 in. (102 mm) diameter. Up-turned stiffener edges 0.57 in. (14.5 mm) high and 0.56 in. (14.2 mm) wide along entire length of each side. Provided with mounting opening at long end of hook 0.26 in. (6.7 mm) diameter. Also provided with opening at short end of hook 0.26 in. (6.7 mm) diameter for the cable ties. 2. Cat. No. JH-64W - Same as Cat. No. JH-64 above, except provided with bat-wing clip riveted to top of J hook. Refer to FIG. 5 and ILL. 1 for Bat-wing description. 3. Cat. No. JH-64AC - Same as Cat. 1. Cat. No. FR-ZC - "Z" shaped bracket, constructed of zinc plated steel, approx. overall dimensions 2.17 by 0.76 by 0.083 in. (55 by 19 by 2.1 mm). One leg is approx. 1.0 in. (26 mm) long with a 1/4 x 20 threaded hole, centered and 0.45 in. (11.4 mm) from end. Other leg is approx. 1.27 in. (32 mm) long with a raised impression for powder-driven nail, approx. 0.52 in. (13 mm) dia. and 0.26 in. (6.7 mm) high with 0.14 in. (3.7 mm) dia. hole for nail, centered and approx. 0.46 in. (11.6 mm) from end. Curved impression formed in short section between legs for added stiffness. Nail is provided, 1.36 in. (34.7 mm) long by 0.14 in. (3.7 mm) dia. shank with 0.28 in. (7.1 mm) dia. by 0.11 in. (2.9 mm) thick head. Provided with 1/4 x 20 threaded rod, approx. 6.0 (152 mm) long. 2. Cat. No. FR-PZC - "Z" shaped bracket, constructed of zinc
plated steel, approx. overall dimensions 2.24 by 0.75 by 0.077 in. (57
by 19 by 1.9 mm). One leg is approx. 1.0 in. (26 mm) long with a 1/4
x 20 threaded hole, centered and 0.45 in. (11.4 mm) from end. Other
leg is approx. 1.31 in. (33.5 mm) long with a hole, approx. 0.24 in.
(6.2 mm) dia., centered and approx. 0.43 in. (11 mm) from end. Curved
impression formed in short section between legs for added stiffness.
Provided with 1/4 x 20 threaded rod, approx. 6.0 (152 mm) long. W34 BAT-WING - FIG. 5 1. W34 Bat-Wing Clip - Epoxy powder-coated steel, approx. 3.9 by 0.75 by 0.031 in. (99 by 19 by 0.8 mm). Two up-turned ends 0.29 in. (7.5 mm) high and 0.30 in. (7.7 mm) long. Threaded rod secured by two up-turned tangs 0.23 in (6 mm) high and 0.28 in. (7 mm) long. Gap between tang and teeth is approx. 0.77 by 0.45 in. (19.5 by 11.5 mm). One rivet hole 0.27 in. (7 mm) dia. and two threaded holes 0.20 in. (5 mm) and 0.17 in. (4 mm) dia., centered on device.
